NEKOOSA – Weyauwega’s Legion baseball team fell to Mosinee and Marathon in a Class AAA regional tournament in Nekoosa.
Weyauwega opened the tournament July 22 with a 14-10 loss to Mosinee and fell to eventual tournament champion Marathon the following day.
One local team did advance to state, as Clintonville won the Marion/Tigerton Regional and is competing today (Thursday) at the Class AAA state tournament in Black River Falls.
Clintonville faced Jefferson in the first round July 28 and was scheduled to play Ripon or Marathon at noon or 5 p.m. today.
The championship game is set for 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. Sunday.
