Burgett, Ernestine

Ernestine Burgett passed away July 22, 2010, at the Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI. Leota Ernestine Dickinson was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Racine, WI. Raised in Waukegan, IL, Ernie became a summertime Waupaca resident in 1924 when her family built “Our House” on Miner Lake. A 1944 graduate of Northwestern University, Ernie later trained to become a x-ray technician. In 1988, Ernie and her husband, Pete, moved permanently to Waupaca. Ernie is survived by her children, Kirsti (Dan) Hoffman of Oconomowoc, WI, Patricia (Elmer) Hacker of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Jennifer (Mike) Frisby of Genoa City, WI; grandchildren, Heather (Aaron) Coppage and Carrie (Tom) Wintergalen. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pete, granddaughter, Katherine Hoffman, and brother, Oliver Dickinson. Per Ernie’s wishes, there will be only a private interment.
