The Waupaca Duplicate Bridge Club will meet at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at the Holly History and Genealogy Center, 321 S. Main St.
Jack Rhodes will present a brief bridge lesson at 8:30 a.m., with play to begin at 9 a.m. All area bridge players are encouraged to attend.
In bridge action on July 30, the field was again divided into East/West and North/South competitions. Winning first East/West was the Waupaca team of Karen Holly and Mary Schommer. Carol Konrad, Neshkoro, and Jan Rich, Green Lake, took second-place honors, while Carol Bohn and Dan Schommer, both of Waupaca, captured third-place East/West. The East/West Honorable Mention Award went to Waupaca’s Tom and Joan Ryan.
Waupaca players strongly prevailed in the North/South competition, with Faye Sorenson and Mary Ann DeRoche claiming first-place honors, while Pat Harvey and Dean Janssen took second. Betty Conte and John Hebbring landed in third-place North/South. Jay and Cathy Quella, Weyauwega, won the North/South Honorable Mention Award and rounded out the winners’ circle.
