Michael J. Romprey, 47, New London, was charged July 27 with two counts of felony child abuse, two counts misdemeanor battery and one count of disorderly conduct.
Romprey allegedly punched his girlfriend’s 14-year-old son and gave him a bloody nose on April 4.
The boy told investigators that Romprey became angry at him after finding a broken bottle of animal lure, according to the criminal complaint. Romprey allegedly told the boy, “I am going to kill you.”
Romprey faces up to three years in prison if convicted of felony child abuse and nine months in jail if convicted of battery.
