Waupaca County sheriff’s report

Theft

?July 30 – A Weyauwega woman reported that prescription drugs had been stolen from her car while it was parked in downtown Waupaca.

?July 30 – A New Holland 256 hay rake was stolen from the E4700 block of Butternut Ridge Road in Weyauwega.

?July 30 – A blue men’s Magna 10-speed bike was stolen from the N3400 block of Covered Bridge Road, Waupaca.

?July 29 – A blue Trek Crosstrainer bike was stolen from a shed in the E2300 block of Larson Road, Farmington.

?July 29 – a blue Mongoose bike was stolen from the 400 block of South Division Street, Waupaca.

?July 27 – A resident of the 4200 block of County Road EE, Weyauwega, reported a Husqvarna weed eater had been stolen from the back of his vehicle.

?July 27 – The grill was stolen from a 1996 Cutlass Supreme while it was parked in a driveway on the 800 block of Main Street, Embarrass.

Burglary

?July 31 – A computer was reported stolen from the E200 block of State Highway 54, Waupaca.

?July 29 – A resident of the E6400 block of Beach Street, Manawa, reported that someone broke into his garage and stole $140 in cash from the vehicles parked there.

Traffic

?July 27 – Shortly before 1 p.m., one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Royalton.

Diane M. Janke, 46, New London, was westbound on U.S. Highway 45 when a wolf ran out in front of her vehicle. When she hit her brakes, her vehicle was rear-ended by Jeremy M. Wetmore, 29, Chicago. Janke was seriously injured and required emergency medical transport.

?July 24 – Daniel A. Franks, 30, Waupaca, was seriously injured in a crash at 5:40 a.m. in the town of Lind.

Franks was westbound on U.S. Highway 10 when his vehicle drifted onto the shoulder. He lost control, crossed the median, then both eastbound lanes, entered a ditch and slammed into a concrete berm.

?July 23 – A 2 p.m. crash in the construction zone on U.S. 45 in the town of Bear Creek resulted in injuries to seven people.

James E. Albrent, 53, Wauwatosa, was northbound on U.S. 45 when he slowed for a vehicle in front of him making a turn.

Darrell R. Hoffman, 74, Crandon, was also northbound, did not see Albrent slowing and struck his vehicle from behind.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance from the scene, as were four passengers from Hoffman’s vehicle and one passenger from Albrent’s vehicle.
