The Waupaca Comet girls’ golf team opened Eastern Valley Conference play Monday and competed in recent invitationals in Kaukauna and Waupaca.
Waupaca placed sixth Monday in a conference meet at DePere’s Hilly Haven Ski & Golf, finished seventh at Friday’s Heart of the Valley Invitational at Kaukauna’s Countryside Golf Club and took ninth at the Waupaca Invitational Tuesday, Aug. 17.
Nicole Cychosz led Waupaca with a 58 Monday. Other scores for Waupaca were Robin Peeters (66), Jessica Taggatz (70) and Cassidy Holt (71).
Appleton Xavier won the meet with a 171, while Waupaca shot a 265.
Cychosz and Hannah Sprenger led the Comets with a combined score of 110 at the Heart of the Valley. Jessica Krawczyk and Taggatz turned in a round of 123, while Hannah Johnson and Holt carded a 133. Waupaca shot a 233.
Cychosz shot an 18-hole round of 125 to lead the Comets at the Waupaca Invitational, followed by Peeters (130), Krawczyk (139) and Taggatz (150).
Xavier won the meet, followed by Freedom, Green Bay Notre Dame, Hortonville, Little Chute, Wrightstown, Fox Valley Lutheran, Oconto and Waupaca.
The Comets hosted an Eastern Valley Conference Meet Tuesday and will head to Cecil’s Golden Sands Golf Community for a conference match Monday, Aug. 30.
