Autumn Gala to benefit hospital

The Wolf River Healthcare Foundation expects hundreds at its Seventh Annual Dinner on Tues., Sept. 21, at Crystal Falls Banquet Facility in New London. Funds raised by the event, themed “An Autumn Gala,” will support the relocation and expansion of the chemotherapy suite at New London Family Medical Center.

“Community participation in the Foundation’s annual dinner has helped meet many local healthcare needs over the years, including the Birth Center and the new ambulance,” said Foundation board president Harry Radix. “This year, we’re excited to rally the community around building a new chemotherapy suite at New London Family Medical Center. This important project will offer great comfort to cancer patients in our community.”

“The current chemotherapy room’s size and layout can make it difficult for patients to have loved ones nearby while they receive infusions. It also makes it challenging for nurses to provide care,” said Foundation executive director Deborah Johnson.

“We can do better,” she added. “We want to use the proceeds of this year’s celebration to create a spacious chemotherapy suite that will be a place of hope and healing for our families, friends and neighbors.”

The annual dinner opens at 4:30 p.m. with registration and hors d’oeuvres. Dinner and remarks will follow at 6 p.m. The evening will end with a live auction hosted by Dave Radtke, with goods and services donated by local businesses. Items up for bid include a VIP suite at a Green Bay Gamblers game courtesy of Fox Communities Credit Union, four Green Bay Packers club seats, an Apple iPad donated by Griebenow Eyecare, and much more.

A. Sturm & Sons Foundation, Inc. and Radiology Associates of the Fox Valley, S.C. are lead sponsors of the event. Gold Sponsors include Boldt, First State Band, Kwik Trip, McMahon and Sara Lee. Silver Sponsors are Griebenow Eyecare, S.C., Dr. Paul and Kristine Hoell, Ingenuity First, New London Family Medical Center, Premier Community Bank, ThedaCare, ThedaCare Physicians-New London and Women’s Care of Wisconsin, S.C.

Tickets are $60 per person or $100 per couple. Corporate tables for eight are available for $600. Reservations may be made by contacting Johnson at 920-531-2221 or [email protected].
