Johnson, Donald L.

Donald L. Johnson, age 80, of Waupaca, WI passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. Don was born in Waupaca on October 15, 1929, the son of the late Evan and Grace (Petersen) Johnson. On September 11, 1948 Don married Evelyn Olson in Waupaca. He worked at Bergstrom Paper Co. and later was the maintenance supervisor at Riverside Medical Center. After leaving RMC, he operated his own car detailing business until he retired in 1993. He is a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Don is survived by his wife of almost 62 years: Evelyn Johnson, Waupaca; his children: Marcia (Larry) Gutt, Waupaca; James Johnson, Weyauwega and Dan (Marsha) Johnson, Waupaca; his 7 grandchildren: Adam (Annie) Gutt, Ryan Gutt; Amanda, Sarah & Marisa Johnson; Haley & Alexa Johnson. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law:   Jere Johnson, Waupaca and Viola Olson, Appleton and his brother-in-law: John Jones, Wild Rose. Don was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Delores Johnson and a brother Wayne Johnson. Funeral Service were on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 12 Noon at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca with Reverend Dr. Charles Tews, officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Park. Visitation was on Weds. morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the church. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
