The New London Girls Youth Basketball Association is organizing a basketball skills program for girls in grades three through eight.
The program is conducted by Craig Hawley. Hawley is in his third year as head coach for the Hortonville Boys Basketball Team and has coached AAU, ran skills clinics and provides private coaching lessons. He was an all-conference and all-district player at UW-Stevens Point.
The program is designed for serious basketball players looking to improve her overall basketball skill. Lessons will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the New London High School for six consecutive Sundays beginning Oct. 3.
Registration is due by Friday, Sept. 24. There is a $60 participation fee and each girls needs to bring their own basketball. The program consists of intense fast-paced sessions focusing on ball handling, shooting and footwork/individual offensive moves. The girls conclude each session applying the skills to 3-on-3 game situations.
