Murray, LeLand

LeLand Murray, age 74, was born into eternal kingdom of Heaven on September 9, 2010 at home surrounded by his lovingfamily. Leland was born on April 28, 1936 in the Bear Creek Township, to the late Milton and Edna Murray. He married Romona Spoehr on October, 11, 1955. He served in the US Army from 1959-1961. He labored faithfully on the family farm until retiring in 1997. At which time he enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing with his wife, as well as continuing his love of working the land through helping others. Throughout his life he was active in his community through the VFW, Lion’s Club and Volunteer Fire Department of Bear Creek. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Romona (Spoehr) Murray. Five children: Nadine (Dave) Taylor, Campobello, SC; Karen (Jeff) Handschke, New London; Jean (Bill) Jarosh, Appleton; Kevin Murray, Clintonville; Brian ( Amy) Murray, Easley, SC. Nine grandchildren, Zach Taylor, Jessica Glymph, Berit and Giselle Handschke, Adam and Jacob Jarosh, Ryli Murray, Cameron and Kaitlynn Brewer. Brother, Ken (Marge) Murray, Largo, FL. Funeral Mass for Leland was held on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek, with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Leland will be laid to eternal rest at St. Mary’s parish cemetery, Bear Creek. Visitation was held on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
