Celebrating the Clintonville Public Library

This article is the last in a series of articles commemorating various anniversaries of the Clintonville Public Library.

Saturday, Sept. 25, the Friends of the Clintonville Public Library will celebrate their 25th anniversary of serving the Library. An open house will be held at the Library, 75 Hemlock Street, from 1-4 p.m. with a short program beginning at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Kathy Mitchell, Library Director, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. Harriet McCauley, Beth Mack, Cathy Belliveau, Doris Abrahamson, and Tim Sweet will speak on the various anniversaries the library has marked. Mayor Judy Magee will read her proclamation for the 25th anniversary of the Friends of the Clintonville Public Library. Library memorabilia will be on display as well as antique library “tools of the trade”. The new microform system, the InfoSoup online catalogue, and databases will be demonstrated by library personnel. Light refreshments will be served.

Displays for public viewing will be available Saturday afternoon at other sites around town: O’Connor Sales and Realty, 95 South Main, the former Finney Library; Honey Creek, 102 South Main, the former residence of Dr. Finney; the History House, 32 11th Street, the Eben Rexford collection; and the Historical Society display window, 36 South Main Street.
