Police to dispose of expired medications

WEYAUWEGA – On Saturday, Sept. 25, the Weyauwega Police Department will be part of a cooperative effort to safely dispose of expired, unused or otherwise unwanted prescription drugs.

Those who want to dispose of medication may do so from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Weyauwega Police Department, which is located at 109 E. Main St. in Weyauwega.

Any medicine – with the exception of liquids, intra-venous solutions and syringes – will be accepted. This includes controlled, non-controlled and over-the-counter medicine.

Illicit drugs of any kind will not be accepted, and anyone found in possession of or attempting to dispose of such material will be prosecuted.

The program is anonymous. There will be no requirement of identification in order to dispose of medications.
