The Stray Animal Fund Endeavor created in 2004 by Wolf River Veterinary Clinic staff received a big boost both financially and emotionally last weekend as over 100 dogs and supporters gathered at Hatten Park for the first-ever Dogtober Walk in the Park.
Over $5,000 was raised for the stray animal program. The weather was perfect and the walk was deemed a huge success by organizers Kathleen Nehring and Dr. Lowell Wickman. Walkers and pets enjoyed the park, colored by the first wave of autumn leaves.
A picnic and prize giveaways added to the outdoor fun and strays from the program were happy to participate in the event.
