Cuff, George A. Sr.

George A. Cuff Sr., age 83, of Hortonville, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010. He was born on December 22, 1926, in the Township of Hortonia, Outagamie County, son of the late Clarence & Gladys (Hamilton) Cuff. On June 21, 1950 he was united in marriage to Margaret Ritchie in New London. He lived and farmed in Hortonia his entire life and formerly served on the Wisconsin Pork Producers Council and the New London Savings and Loan Board of Directors. George was best known for starting Cuff’s Strawberry Farm in 1964, which is still in operation today. He was also a lifetime member of the First Congregational Church in New London. George is survived by his wife, Margaret. A daughter, Carol (Dave) Gerlach, New London. Two sons, Jim (Jane) Cuff, Waupaca, George Jr. “Sandy” (Lois) Cuff, Hortonville. A brother, Jim Cuff, Hortonville. Three sisters, Mary (Larry) Arbisi, Minneapolis, Joann (Don) Shue, Brookfield, Dorothy (Dave) Wege, Crystal Lake, Illinois. He is further survived by eight grandchildren, Jenny Cuff, Jason Cuff, Jesse (Heidi) Cuff, Jaclyn Cuff, Justin (Keri) Gerlach, Michael Gerlach, Nathan Gerlach, Maggie Cuff. Two great grandchildren, Tristan & Ethan Cuff. A Memorial Service for George was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 9, 2010 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in New London with the Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Friends called at the church on Saturday from 9:00a.m. until the time of service.
