Toto event raises $11,000

The Toto Endowment fundraiser held Sept. 22 brought in more than $11,000, according to Pat Pfeifer, a member of the Toto Endowment Board.

“This gives the necessary support to the Humane Society of Waupaca County for the new spaying and neutering clinic,” Pfeifer said.

“Some 210 women attended our recent fundraiser,” said Christine Faulks, president of the Toto Endowment Board. “With the generosity of many individuals, through the buying of event and raffle tickets, and the bidding on a warehouse of silent auction items – I am talking about everything from a basket of salon shampoos to a custom belt buckle, as well as original artworks by our area artists, we have been able to raise the money to assist animal rescue in Waupaca County.”

Faulks and Pfeifer, along with the Toto Endowment Board members and volunteers, began planning events in 2001 to raise funds to build a mortgage-free animal shelter.

After five years, they raised more than $200,000 through the hosting of dinners and events with silent auctions, holding white elephant sales, and selling raffle tickets.

In 2008, the Toto board established an endowment fund with the Waupaca Area Community Foundation. It is now over $10,000 and growing. The mission of the Toto Endowment Fund is animal rescue.

In 2009, the Toto Endowment board raised more than $6,000 to contribute toward the kennels for dogs at the Humane Society of Waupaca County. Another $6,000 was raised in 2009, and some of these funds helped support a concrete pad for the outside dog run at the Humane Society of Waupaca County.
