Volunteers sought for Reality Store

Clintonville High School will host a Reality Store event from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26.

Organizers need volunteers to assist with this event for senior students.

The goals of the Reality Store are to help students learn basic finance skills, goal setting, career planning, decision making, and the importance of getting what they need first, and getting what they want second. After attending the Reality Store, students may be more motivated to stay in school, earn their high school diplomas, and to continue on to post-secondary education.

At the Reality Store, students will choose a career and be assigned a salary. Then they will visit 17 booths to purchase life’s necessities, and have the option to buy some “extras” – but they cannot spend more than their salary. If needed, students can visit the SOS booth where they will be assisted in re-assessing their purchases, and if they choose, get a part-time job to help make their ends meet.

To volunteer for the event, contact Kim Lemieux via email at [email protected] or by phone at 920-720-5600.
