Wemmer resigns from Scandinavia Village Board

The resignation of Phil Wemmer was accepted by the Scandinavia Village Board at its Aug. 10 meeting.

In other business, the board accepted a contract with Renew Hydro Power Inc., covering the use of the water rights at the millpond dam.

It was reported that all but one dog owner had responded to the last reminder to purchase dog licenses. The animal-control officer will be contacted regarding issuing a citation to the dog owner who has not licensed his dogs.

Trustee Mike Hayes reported that an estimate of $25,000 to extend electricity to the lagoons had been received from Alliant Energy.

Other matters discussed included no further information received on Memorial Park bridge repair, problems with cat population, new firetruck purchase, dirt bike complaints, playground equipment graffiti, foundry materials project and maintenance work.
