Manawa JV defeats Bonduel

The Manawa junior varsity football team faced Bonduel at home Monday night, Oct. 11, coming out on top 14-0.

Manawa won the coin toss, electing to receive to start the game. They drove the ball down to about the 15 yard line, but came up short.

Manawa’s first score of the game came from a blocked punt by Matt Heimbruch #45, who picked up the ball and ran it in for a touchdown. The extra point was no good, leaving the score 6-0.

The second score of the game came from a 15-yard run by Garrett Vandenhoot #21, with a two-point conversion ran in by Donnie Sell #10, putting Manawa up 14-0.

The Wolves continued to hold Bonduel to a scoreless game with great defensive plays including an interception by Wes Krauss #20 and a powerful line putting constant pressure on Bonduel’s backfield.

“It’s nice to see the winning at this level,” commented Coach Bob Sell. “They are a good group of kids having fun winning. We just need to keep this going and carry it over to next year and Friday nights.”

Manawa JV will play their last game of the season next Monday versus Weyauwega-Fremont.
