No pumpkin display this year

WAUPACA – Jim Miller is unable to share his pumpkin-carving talents with the area this year.

Miller was involved in a serious accident Friday while working at Thyssen-Krupp-Waupaca. The accident resulted in him sustaining numerous lacerations, his wife Debra said Monday.

Due to the injuries, Miller is unable to carve his pumpkins for the annual pumpkin display that is held at their home.

The display was to open Thursday, Oct. 21, with more than 75 pumpkins to be on display by Halloween.

Debra Miller said that her husband is home and in much pain. Numerous doctor appointments were scheduled for this week.

She said if – stressing it is a big if – he is able to do any pumpkin carving, pumpkins would be on display the weekend of Halloween.
