Uselding named ILA resident of the month

David Uselding has been named resident of the month at Iola Living Assistance (ILA).

He was born Dec. 12, 1937, and raised in Milwaukee. Uselding completed all of his education in the Catholic schools of Milwaukee.

He married his wife, Carol, on Feb. 15, 1958. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. The Useldings had a beautiful daughter, Ann Marie. Uselding retired after 30 years working at the Milwaukee Evinrude outboard plant.

The Uselding family always did everything together. Uselding’s bowhunting hobby brought him to Iola on occasion and eventually, in 1975, they moved to Iola where Uselding oversaw the groundskeeping at the Iola Community Golf Course – a position he took great pride in for 20 years.

His hobbies include golfing, hunting, fishing, going to casinos and spending time with his daughter and granddaughter, Ellie. Uselding moved to ILA on April 27, 2009.

ILA Inc. is a nonprofit organization that operates the community-owned 50-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. In addition to this facility, they own and operate Butternut Ridge, an independent living apartment complex, and Living Oaks, a 24-unit assisted living facility.
