Iola Christmas Parade set for Dec. 4

The 13th annual Christmas Parade will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, in the village of Iola.

The parade begins at the Iola-Scandinavia High School and passes the Iola Living Assistance and the shops on Main Street, ending at the corner of North and Main streets.

This year the Iola Lioness Club is asking for people to bring prescription glasses, reading glasses and hearing aids to the parade that are no longer needed. There will be Lioness members in the parade that will be collecting these items for donation to the Wisconsin Lions Camp.

A visit with Santa and entertainment by a storyteller for all children will follow the parade at the Iola Village Library. Refreshments will be served at the library by the Iola Lioness Club.

Participating in the parade provides an opportunity for individuals, businesses and organizations to promote themselves and show community spirit. Any person or organization that would like to sponsor a float or walk in this year’s parade may contact Michelle Nelson at 715-467-3317.

The Iola Lioness Club sponsors the parade, with the support of the Iola Village Library, Iola Lions Club and Iola-Scandinavia Area Chamber of Commerce.
