Applications are now available for the summer youth exchange program sponsored by Rotary Clubs in the Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin.
From June to August, American students (ages 15-19) will live with a Rotary family in one of about 15 countries that are available. Upon their return in August, the exchange student’s host brother or sister travels with them to the United States to experience American life.
Applications are processed in the order they are received. Those received later may have fewer choices of countries. Applications are to be returned by Feb. 28, 2011.
The $200 cost includes supplemental medical and accident insurance, orientation meeting expenses and administration costs. Room, board, recreation and site seeing are provided by the host families.
This program is a magnificent opportunity for students from our area to have an international experience. This program is open to both Rotarian and non-Rotarian families.
