Wilbert named as principal

The Oct. 25 meeting of the Weyauwega-Fremont (W-F) School Board was Matt Wilbert’s first meeting as the district’s new high school and middle school principal.

He received the assignment following an Oct. 11 board vote.

Wilbert had been an assistant principal in the school district and also its athletic director.

The Oct. 25 meeting was also the first meeting for the school board’s new student representative.

Ashley Handrich is a senior at W-F High School and the board’s first student representative. She will be a nonvoting member and said she sees it as an “opportunity to get more involved than I am.”

Board member Sandy Smith will serve as Handrich’s mentor.

Approved on Oct. 25 was a proposal for communications and public relations assistance from the Cooperative Educational Service Agency 6 at a cost of $4,500. Dorreen Dembski is the agency’s new communications director, and the agreement between her and the district will cover Oct. 25 through June 30, 2011.
