Rita Thiel, Citizens Bank – New London branch manager, has received the company’s Business Owner Banking Certificate.
The certificate, which takes up to a year to earn, requires successful completion of a series of educational classes combined with hands on training while working with business owners.
“With this certificate, Rita is now uniquely qualified to work with business owners,” said Mark Fleshner, regional president for Citizens Bank serving Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. “All too often, many financial institutions deal with business owners the way they deal with their largest corporate customers. Business Owner Banking is a very specialized area which is why we believe it’s important to understand the specific needs a business owner has and to provide the service and products geared to their circumstances. We’ve developed this comprehensive certificate process to be able to achieve this.”
To receive her certificate, Thiel underwent training in a variety of financial areas focused on small business, including: cash flow, financial statements and business entities, business depositand/ loan products, tools and resources to help business owners, and how to determine business owner’s needs.
“I’m very excited that my training is being recognized with this prestigious honor,” said Thiel. “The certificate reassures our customers that we have been well trained and are ready to help business owners achieve their financial goals.”
To maintain her certificate, Thiel will continue to receive specialized coaching, attend an annual “Talking Business” training session and pass additional tests.
