Riesenberg, Herman

Herman Riesenberg, age 89, of Symco, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville. He was born on May 12, 1921 in the Town of Dupont, son of the late John William and Marie(Dallman) Riesenberg. On June 2, 1951 he was united in marriage to Iva Mae Krueger. She preceded him in death in 1996. Herman started dairy farming in the Town of Dupont and moved to Symco in 1964 where he continued farming until retiring in 2004. He drove bus for the Manawa School District for many years. Herman enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and bus trips with Iva. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco.

He is survived by his children: John (Mary) Riesenberg, Joel (Yvonne) Riesenberg, Joy (Ron) Flohr, Jill (Bryan) Willner; grandchildren: Jean (Jason) Seeger, Jaclyn (Sean) Seeger, Jeremy (Lindsey) Riesenberg, Justin and Jordan Riesenberg, Greg and Sarah Flohr, Alex and Beth Willner; great-grandchildren: James, Julia, Joshua and Jocelyn Seeger; sisters: Hazel Krueger, Evern Klika; brother-in-law: Vernon Krueger; sister-in-law: Dora (Les) Schlender. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, brother Earl, and sisters Elsie Riesenberg, Esther Scanlan and Gladys Ellis.
The funeral service for Herman was held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery in the Town of Dupont. Friends called at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Herman resided the last two years at Greentree Nursing Home in Clintonville where he made many wonderful friends and where he enjoyed playing cards and bingo. He expressed how thankful he was of the wonderful care he received from the Greentree staff and also the staff of Heartland Hospice.
