Silver Bells Christmas in Clintonville

The Chamber of Commerce and area retailers are ready for Silver Bells Christmas.

The buttons are available for sale to residents and can then be used for discounts at participating retailers. Discounts are anywhere from free items to drawings for prizes, however buttons must be worn to receive the discount.

Buttons are available at the following businesses or the Chamber of Commerce office for $1 each: First National Bank, American Family Insurance, Studio 22-Pam O’Connor, Radio Shack, Fox Valley Technical College, Econofoods, M&I Bank, Pine Manor Health Care Center, Angelus Retirement Community, Orthopedic Spine & Therapy, Clintonville Chronicle, Wanta’s Floral, Spectacular Vision, Modern Hair, B&H Footwear, B&H Fashionwear, Trophies & Treasures and Season’s Salon / Sun City Tanning.

Another activity will be the search for the Christmas Medallion. Four clues will be given in all and began this week. Clues will be posted in the Chamber of Commerce office window at 18 S. Main Street each Monday through Monday, Dec. 13.

The person finding the Christmas Medallion is to bring it to the Chamber office where they will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks. Only one prize will be given.

This year the parade will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4. Residents are invited to join in the parade. Entries must be decorated in a way that reflects the holiday. Musical entries and those that involve children are especially appreciated. Santa and Mrs. Claus must not be part of entries because they are scheduled to be at the end of the parade.

Children may visit with Santa after the parade at the Clintonville Community Center until 2:30 p.m. There will also be children’s activities performances by CHS Chamber Choir and food and refreshments will be available for sale. Bring your camera along to takes pictures of your child(ren) with Santa.

Children are also urged to write their letters to Santa at the North Pole. For a reply, include a self-addressed stamped envelope through Wednesday, Dec. 15. The North Pole Express Mailbox is located by the Community Center on the corner of Main and Tenth Streets.

Another favorite activity is the Lighted Christmas Display along the Riverwalk Park behind the Community Center. The display will be lit between Wednesday, Nov. 24 and January 1, 2011.
