Wisniewski, Dominic

Dominic C. Wisniewski, age 86, formerly of 3205 Cherry St. in Plover, passed away Tuesday morning, November 16, 2010, at Riverview Lodge in Whiting where he and his wife Mary have resided the past couple of months. A mass of Christian burial for Dominic will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Rev. Greg Bohren will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM Friday until the time of services at the church. Burial with full military honors will be at the parish cemetery. Dominic was born July 4, 1924, in Plover, the son of Nicholas and Agnes (Dobrosiewicz) Wisniewski. After graduation from P.J. Jacobs High School, he moved to Milwaukee and soon entered the United States Army. After his honorable discharge he returned to Milwaukee and worked as a machinist at General Electric Medical Systems for 37 years. He married Mary Gorecki on October 21, 1950 at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Milwaukee, they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Don enjoyed fishing for muskies up north with his brother Len. He was the family’s “Mr. Fix It” and was a talented woodworker. Don was proud to be be there for his children’s fixing and remodeling projects. He also enjoyed gardening and raising fruits and vegetables. He was an avid Packer Fan and enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s soccer and basketball games. Survivors include his wife, Mary; their children: Marilyn (Joel) Andelman, Waupaca; Ron (Cristi) Wisniewski, Pewaukee; son-in-law,Bruce Wendorf, Onalaska. Grandchildren: Jeff Wendorf, Kelly Wendorf, Shannen Wisniewski, Lindsay Wisniewski. Two sisters: Clara Frohna and Irene Gibeault. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Susan Wendorf, and many brothers and sisters. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.ploverfuneralhome.com.
