Christian, Dale

Dale Stanley Christian, New London, age 80, passed away November 28, 2010. He was born in New London on February 19, 1930, to the late Stanley and Alma (Opper) Christian. He was born to Jesus through Baptism at Emanuel Lutheran Church. He graduated from Washington High School in New London in 1947. On May 27, 1950, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Andrews of New London. Dale worked at Kimberly-Clark for 38 years, at which time he also founded Christian Builders. After retiring, his two sons and grandson continued his building business. Dale was an avid hunter and enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Canada with his friends. Woodworking was Dale’s hobby and passion. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, of 60 years, his son, Tom (Lynn), daughter, Susan (James) Travis, daughter, Jill (Michael) Levorson, and son, Ted (Karrie), nine grandchildren: Tom, Jr. (Jana), Tina (Mike) Bonack, Jaime (Tedd) Poluan, Dustin, Dominique, Brian, Saicu, Sam, and Kate. Survivors also include 7 great-grandchildren and a sister, Phyllis Klinger. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roger, and an infant son. Dale will be greatly missed, but will be forever in our hearts. Funeral services for Dale were held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Interment was in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Friends called at the church Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
