Last year, the Waupaca Comet hockey team opened its season with losses to Waunakee and Waukesha.
The tables were turned this year, however, as the Comets are off to a 2-0 start after wins over both teams at the Waupaca Expo Center.
Waupaca handed Waukesha a 4-1 defeat Saturday, Nov. 27, a day after picking up a 7-6 overtime win over Waunakee.

Tyler Donaldson, Jared Erickson, Bjorn Asher and Brad Navin scored in a win over the Wings. Asher also had an assist in the game, as did Marcus Johnson and Beau Ash.

Donaldson started his season with a two-goal, three-assist effort against the Warriors.
Ash added two goals, Navin chipped in with a goal and two assists and Asher had a goal and assist. Hunter Vezina also found the net for the Comets.
Waupaca hosted Antigo tonight (Thursday, Dec. 2) and will host Rhinelander and Ashwaubenon at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, and Tuesday, Dec. 7, respectively.
