Lon Allen Sr., along with his wife Mary and daughter Cassy Engelhardt, opened Clintonville Bearing & Machine on Nov. 1.
The business features retail sales of bearings, seals, pulleys, belts and bushings as well as full machine shop services.
“We had been planning on opening this business for a number of years,” Lon explained. “We waited to open this business until the work at the Highway 45/22 intersection was complete. Now, it’s very easy to give people directions to the shop, rather than have them driving in circles to try to find us.”
Lon has been a resident of Clintonville for 30 years and recently left his local career to pursue his dream of owning his own business. Lon and Mary have two children and four grandchildren who live in Clintonville.
Lon said he understands the importance of having parts on hand and offering fast, reliable machining services.
“I knew there was a need for it in the area, because I spent 28 years in dairy farm automation. Many times, farmers need equipment immediately. My sympathies are with them when equipment breaks down, and we provide the areas best selection of bearings, bushings, seals, belts and pulleys to help get equipment fixed immediately.”
Lon said he has already sold many parts to local dealerships and industrial businesses. “Since opening on Nov. 1, things have been going very well,” he stated. “I’m very satisfied.”
The full-service machine shop allows Lon to fabricate and repair almost anything. He has been fabricating and repairing parts in his spare time for the last 10 years. The businesses vast inventory of products ensures that they will most likely have any part a customer may need at a moments notice. If he doesn’t have a particular part in stock, he said special order items can be obtained in just 24 hours.
Clintonville Bearing & Machine is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. They can be reached by phone at 715-823-5544 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
