FCCLA starts donation center

The Weyauwega-Fremont chapter of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) has started a school-based donation center.

The main goal is to help students obtain the supplies they need to be comfortable as well as successful at Weyauwega-Fremont schools.

The group will be working to provide school supplies, personal hygiene products and clothing to those who need them.

Students, staff, parents and community members are invited to donate any new or like-new items that will be used to make the center a respectful resource for the school community.

The following items are needed:

School supplies: Pencils and pens, notebooks, calculators, highlighters, flash drives, folders, backpacks, pencil bags, rulers, markers, crayons, colored pencils.

Clothing: Hats, gloves, jeans, dress pants, shorts, shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, sweaters, new underwear, new socks, WF apparel, prom dresses, graduation gowns.

Personal hygiene: Shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, makeup, soap, hair ties, tampons, comb, brush.

The center will serve students in grades K-12 so donations of all sizes will be appreciated. Donation boxes are located near the entrances of the elementary, middle and high schools in Weyauwega. Donations can also be dropped off at Door 18 behind the high school. These donations should be protected from the weather as they will be outside.

The center will be a personal, private and safe environment for students in need. The center will not publicize the names of the students or what items they take.
