Eggert, Henrietta M.

Henrietta M. Eggert, age 89, of New London, went into her Heavenly Home on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at St. Joseph Residence in New London. She was born on June 17, 1921 in New London, daughter of the late Richard and Mabel (Grote) Mathewson. In 1939 she married Edwin Eggert in Milwaukee. Henrietta attended schools in New London. She lived in Milwaukee with her husband for 44 years. While in Milwaukee, she worked at various clerical jobs and also as a seamstress for her cousin at Shirley’s Stitch and Fit. Henrietta enjoyed bowling, and working with flowers in her garden. In their retirement, Henrietta and Edwin spent the winters in Phoenix, AZ to be close to her family whom she cherished. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. She is survived by her husband Edwin; son Dennis Eggert and fiance Lynn, Phoenix, AZ; two granddaughters: Aimee’ Flores, Michelle (Jaime) Molera; three great-grandchildren: Kelly Molera, Ella Flores and Chase Flores; her siblings: June Schroeder, Appleton; Hogan (Jean) Mathewson, Appleton; Elwood (Debbie) Mathewson, Marion; Thomas Mathewson, New London; brother-in-law Ervin Eggert, Sun City, FL; three sisters-in-law: Lois, Marion and Sally Mathewson, all of New London. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers Egbert, Richard, Jack, Robert and Dewey Mathewson and 2 sisters Bonnie Mathewson and Margaret Meyers. A memorial service for Henrietta will be held later in the spring. Donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London.
