Local competition in the Knights of Columbus International Free Throw Contest has been scheduled per the following: 4-6 pm Friday January 21st and 11am-1pm Saturday January 22nd. Competition will take place at the Clintonville Recreation Center, 55 E. 12th Street. All area youth ages 10-14 (as of Jan. 1, 2011) are eligible to participate. Separate divisions are organized for boys and girls and there is no cost to enter. Entry blanks are available at local school offices, City Hall and the Park and Recreation Department office. Locally the contest is sponsored by Msgr. Loerke Council No. 1922 Knights of Columbus and conducted by the Park and Recreation Department. First and second place winners in each division and age group will receive a special sculptured medallion with a neck ribbon, along with a first place certificate. In addition first place winners (second place if the first place winner is unable to or chooses not to) also earn the right to compete in the district level competition which is scheduled for early February. Clintonville is in a district that includes the Tigerton, Shawano, Keshena and Antigo areas. Regional and state level contests follow the district level contest.
