Asman, Franklin L.

Franklin L. Asman, age 91, of Manawa, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the New London Family Medical Center. He was born on July 5, 1919 in the Town of Royalton, son of the late Jake and Lydia (Schramm) Asman. On August 24, 1946 he married Marian Ferg at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Symco. Franklin farmed in the Town of Royalton and Little Wolf until 1976. While they were farming, Franklin and Marian were very involved in the Waupaca County Farm Bureau serving as officers. He then worked at Sturm & Jensen Oil Company for a number of years until retiring in 1990. He enjoyed playing cards, fixing anything that needed fixing, but he especially loved being with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. He is survived by his wife Marian; son David Asman, Manawa; also cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His parents preceded him in death. The funeral service for Franklin was held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Symco in the spring. Friends called directly at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
