Gutt, Stephen

Stephen Gutt, age 63, Bowler, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at his home. He was born on April 23, 1947 in Mattoon the son of the late Roland Gutt and Margaret (Wendler) Gutt, Bowler. Stephen was a Bowler high school graduate and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He worked at Seagrave Fire Apparatus in Clintonville for over 40 years retiring in 2009. Stephen enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and doing yard work but especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Gregory Gutt, Bowler; three daughters, Kerry (David) Gutt, Clintonville, Rosemary Gutt, Bowler and Stefeney (John) Gutt, Rhinelander; five grandchildren, Summer Rose Powell, Willow Shay Demaskie, Ezra Vincent Demaskie, Violat Lea Baeza and Riley Hunter Everson; his siblings, Suzanne (Edward) Nicgorski, Milwaukee, Alvina Gutt, Denver, CO, Carl Gutt and Andrew Gutt, both of Bowler and Charlotte (Harvey) Matz, Wittenberg; five nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The Funeral Service will be at 12pm noon on Thursday, January 6, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bowler. Rev. Michael Schram will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery, Town of Almon, Shawano County with military rites conducted by the Davenport-Lang American Legion Post #414. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10am until the time of services at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements.
