Auburndale doubled up Iola-Scandinavia 42-21 Thursday, Dec. 30, in a nonconference girls’ basketball game.
The Apaches held the Thunderbirds to a single free throw in the first quarter and led 17-11 at halftime and 31-13 after three quarters.
Amber Brumer hit a pair of three-pointers and led the T-Birds with eight points, while Amanda Aanstad pulled down a team-high four rebounds. Morgan Oppor chipped in with two assists and a pair of steals, while Lidia Frias finished with two steals as well. Liz Breu led the Apaches with 15 points.
The T-Birds hosted Tigerton Tuesday, Jan. 4, and will return to Central Wisconsin 8 Conference action at 7:30 tonight (Thursday) at home against Bonduel before hosting Wisconsin Rapids Assumption Saturday, Jan. 8, and heading to Wittenberg Tuesday, Jan. 11, to take on Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Tipoff for both games is set for 7:30 p.m.
