Caucus to be held in Fremont

The village of Fremont will hold its caucus at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the village hall.

During the caucus, residents will nominate candidates for the April 5 election.

Up for re-election in the village are village President Daniel Sambs and trustees Rick Coenen, John Kohl III and Denis Scharine.

Village Clerk Karen Looker said if there are more than two nominations for village president, a vote will immediately be taken to reduce the number of candidates to two.

If there are more than six candidates for the three trustee positions, a vote will also immediately take place to reduce the number of candidates to six for the three positions.

Following the caucus, the village board’s regular monthly meeting will be held.
