I-S School Board meets Jan. 10

– The school board of the School District of Iola-Scandinavia will hold a special meeting at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, in the high school library.

The purpose of the meeting is to consider leasing a portion of the land owned by the district located north of the football field in the village of Scandinavia for the construction of a cell phone tower.

The regular monthly meeting will follow the special meeting. Agenda items include auditing and approval of vouchers; treasurer’s report; administrative reports; property taxes on 504 Water St., Iola; budget status; food service report; second reading of Public School Open Enrollment policy; first reading of Policy Dissemination, School Board Member Responsibilities, Exhibit – Order of Business, and Minutes policies; and drawing for ballot order in spring election.

At the conclusion of the regular meeting, the board will go into executive session to consider administrator evaluations.

Prior to the regular meeting, the Finance Committee will meet at 7:15 p.m. in the middle school conference room. Agenda items include the 2011-12 budget.
