Wayne E. Greene, of Waupaca, age 76, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Lakeview Manor. He was born in Chili, WI on March 16, 1934 to the late Russell and Elma (Hakes) Greene. He was an avid baseball fan and especially loved the New York Yankees. Wayne worked on the family farm; he was a cheese maker working for the Chili Coop and was also a furniture maker. He is survived by a sister: Jeane Vakay of Manhattan Beach, CA, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Elaine Welter, Mary Rothwell, Helen Lengas and Gladys Greene, three brothers, Charles, James and Gerald Greene. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 12 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. The visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be in the spring. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
