Petit, Lawrence R.

Lawrence R. “Larry” Petit, age 61, passed away peacefully with his family by his side January 8, 2011. Larry was born on March 13, 1949, to Raymond and Helen (Mackowiak) Petit. On June 6, 1970, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Reinhardt. He worked for Larsen Co-op for 37 years, Equity Livestock for 41 years, and auctioneered for numerous types of auctions and sales. Larry is survived by his wife Dorothy; two sons, Jeff (Chris) Petit, New London; Jerry Petit (special friend, Rhonda Sasman), New London; a daughter, Tina (Curt) Rush, New London. Four grandchildren, Cole, Dillon, Mariah and Owen. His mother, Helen Petit, New London; three brothers, Lyle (special friend, Marcia Hertzfeldt), New London; Leon Petit, New London and Luke (Brenda) Petit, Appleton; two sisters, Lunette (Mike) Pohlman, New London and Lea (Jim) Walters, Hortonville. Three sisters in-law, Sharon (Daral) Steiger, Weyauwega, Phyllis Reinhardt, Pennsylvania and Joyce Genske, Fremont and a brother in-law, Joe Wedelstadt, Hortonville and many nieces, nephews, special friends-Breakfast Table, and very special friends, Tom and Sally McCormick. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, a sister, Patricia, a grandson, Ethan Rush, father and mother in-law, Franklin and Caroline Reinhardt, sister in-law, Yvonne Wedelstadt and a brother in-law, Louis Genske. Funeral services for Larry were held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Burial was in the Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Visitation was held on Monday at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. and also at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
