Peterson, Eleanore R.

Eleanore R.Peterson, of rural Pine River, age 84, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Bethany Home. She was born in Milwaukee on November 11, 1926 to the late Rev. Roy and Marie (Van Maastricht) Bopp. On September 14, 1963 she married Clayton Peterson. Eleanore was an elementary school teacher for 28 years she finished teaching at Pleasant View Elementary in the Wild Rose School District. She was a Rural Rembrandt Art Club member. Eleanore was a member of First Baptist Church in Waupaca and was active in Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and music programs in the churches her father pastored. She and her husband did volunteer work on Indian Missions in Arizona. She was a member of the Wisconsin Education Association and Regional Art Association member. She also tutored for Fox Valley Literacy Council. She will be sadly missed by her husband: Clayton; sons: Loren (Elizabeth) of Neenah and Cary (Stacie) of Pine River; grandchildren: Amanda, Paige, Stephanie, Kevin, Alexa, Pierce and Rachel; special friends: Milo and Jesse Beuthien, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Alden Bopp. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1500 Roman Rd. Waupaca, with Rev. Larry Gross officiating. The visitation will be on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca and again on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Saxeville in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the First Baptist Christian School or Samaritan’s Purse.
