Lady Bulldogs silence Phantoms

Double digits were all across the board for the Lady Bulldogs in a 69-28 win over West De Pere Friday.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 17-8 lead after one quarter of play. New London went into the locker room at halftime with a 33-17 lead.

The second half was much like the first half. The Bulldogs outscored the Phantoms 36-11 and held the Phantoms to only four points in the final quarter.

Four players scored in double digits for the Bulldogs with Bridget Pethke leading the way at 17 points followed by Kayla Schuh with 13, Brooke Fitzgerald had 11 and Tara Knapstein with 11. Schuh and Pethke also shot three three-point baskets each. In the winning effort the Bulldogs didn’t fare well on the charity stripe only converting 4 out of 10 free throws. New London improved to 9-2 on the season and 5-1 in the Bay as they reach the halfway mark on the season. The Bulldogs are averaging 56.5 points per game while allowing only 33.7 points. The Bulldogs will host Oconto Falls on Thursday, Jan. 20. JV also is shaping out fairly well on the midpoint of the season standing at 11-0. The freshman dropped their last 4 games to fall to 2-7.
