NL boys come up short against Phantoms, beat Denmark

The Bulldog Boys Basketball team started out hot but gradually fell behind in a 31-37 setback to West De Pere last week Thursday.

What started out as a 11-5 lead after one quarter, changed as West De Pere exploded for 18 points in the second quarter to lead by three at halftime.

New London was down by seven at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter came down to defense as the Bulldogs held the Phantoms to one point but in return only scored two points. Countless missed shots also hurt the Bulldogs. Ethan Thiel came off the bench and scored a game high 10 points for New London, along with two three-point baskets.

The Bulldogs only missed three free throws on the night converting 7 out of 10 for 70%. The Bulldogs finish the first half of the conference schedule 2-5 & sits at an even 6-6. The Bulldogs started the second half of the Conference schedule hosting Oconto Falls Tuesday and will Luxemburg-Casco this Friday, Jan. 21.
