Chambers, Nicholas

Nicholas “Nick” James Chambers, age 31, of Madison, formerly of Manawa, passed away very peacefully, surrounded by his family at U.W. Hospital in Madison on Sunday, January 23, 2011. Nick was born on January 30, 1979 in New London, son of Rick (Cindy) Chambers and Kate (Jack) Korb, both of Iola. Nick had a rough start to his life beginning at birth. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. He lived at home with his family for the first seven years until health problems took over. He then lived the remaining years at Wisconsin Central Center for the Developmentally Disabled in Madison. Nick underwent quite a few obstacles in his life but he was a very happy and joyful person. He always had a big belly laugh for people – that was his way of communicating. Besides his parents, Nick is survived by a sister Christina and her daughters Lybie and Katelin; maternal grandparents James and Mary Ann Gorman, Manawa; paternal grandparents: Al Chambers, Manawa; Kay (Maynard) Sordahl, Manawa; step-brothers and sisters: Brian and Heidi Korb, Iola; Nikki (Brian) Egnarski, Pulaski; Jenny (Jesse) Schwan, Appleton; six step nieces and nephews along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Funeral Mass for Nick will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in the Town of Lebanon with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Lally officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at U.W. Hospital, especially Angela and Aaron who were there for Nick, and also the staff at Central Wisconsin Center in Madison for the tremendous, wonderful care they provided for Nick.
