The Bulldog Boys basketball team avenged an early season loss to Luxemburg-Casco with a close 55-51 win last week Friday. The game was close all the way as the lead was flipped back and forth all night. The Spartans led by one at halftime but the Bulldogs came forward in the third quarter outscoring Luxemburg by10 for a 45-36 lead heading into the final quarter.
The Spartans ended up fighting back to pull the game within one, which was part of their 15 point quarter with two minutes left. Both teams were in the Bonus as New London went to the line. Junior Tyler Wenzel probably made the most clutch free throw shots of the game, Tyler went four for four at the line in the last 30 seconds to clinch the victory.
The Wenzel boys led the scoring on the night for the Bulldogs with Jason pitching in 12 while Tyler brought in nine. The victory was New London’s second straight improving their record to 8-6. They travel to Marinette Thursday Jan. 27 and will also have a rematch at Hortonville Monday, Jan. 31. During the Hortonville game Bulldog fans are asked to bring stuffed dogs to toss on the court at halftime for the Teddy Bear Toss, while Hortonville fans will bring Bears, they will be counted to see who has the most. The stuffed toys will be donated to St. Elizabeth Hospital Children’s Wing.

The Bulldog Boys kept the panthers winless in a 57-39 victory last week Tuesday. Eleven players scored for New London. Austin Huntley led the Bulldogs with 11 Points.
