John E. Johnson, age 53, of Iola died Monday, January 31st, 2011 at his residence.

John E. Johnson, age 53, of Iola died Monday, January 31st, 2011 at his residence.

John was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 3, 1958, the son of Irene (Maalo) Haroldson and the late Arvid Johnson. After graduating high school, he went to a auto body repair school in Chicago. He loved music. John was a very brave and outgoing person who accomplished much despite his health conditions. He lived life to its fullest and did it his way. He is survived by: Mother: Irene (Leonard) Haroldson, Iola; Sister: Linda (Bryan) Smith, Iola; Brother: Ronald (Jean) Johnson Barrington, Il.; Step-Brother: Glenn (Lori) Haroldson, Iola; Nieces: Kristin and Kelly Johnson, Alexi and Amie Smith. Nephew: David Johnson Step Niece: Stephanie Haroldson. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church at 1:30 PM on Friday, February 4th, 2011 with Reverend Dale Wilson officiating. Friends called Friday from 12:30 PM until time of the service at the church. Burial will be in Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in name of John and Arvid Johnson.
