Florence R. Swanson Of Waupaca, age 96, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Crystal River Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Chicago, IL on October 25, 1914 to the late August and Ida (Lehmann) Kirchhoff. On June 8, 1940 she married Oscar Swanson; he preceded her in death on August 23, 1994. Florence was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church. She had worked at Woody’s Cheese until the time of her retirement. Florence loved to play cards and played up until a couple of days ago. She especially loved watching and reading articles about the Packers. She is survived by her children: Ronald Swanson and Bill (Karen) Swanson both of Wild Rose; Bob (Judy) Swanson of Waupaca; Chuck (Pam) Swanson of Appleton; Kathy (Ray) Schiesser of Waupaca; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, sister, Louise Martin and brother, Al Kirchhoff. The Funeral Service were held on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home, with Rev. Raymond Claussen officiating. The visitation was on Monday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
