Polar Bears pull away from Bulldogs

In the most anticipated game of the year for both The Bulldogs and Polar Bears the Bears pulled away from a hot New London start to knock the Bulldogs out of the tournament 61-42.

The Bulldogs were able to knock down the first few points in the game and had an early 7-2 lead with four minutes into the game, but Hortonville would come and hold a 11-10 lead after one quarter. The second quarter featured more explosive scoring by both teams and New London had a 22-21 lead.

Things would change in the third quarter as Hortonville went on a run and got in double digit figures to outscore the dogs 18-6. The hot shooting Polar Bears went off for 22 points in the fourth quarter holding New London to 14.

Hortonville’s Zach Vallafskey led all scorers with 26 points, 19 in the second half. Collin Lemke added 10 Points for Hortonville.

Ethan Thiel led New London with 12 Points. New London was hot on the arc knocking in six three-pointers 2 from Thiel and Jason Wenzel. Vallefskey knocked in three for Hortonville.

New London finishes the year 10-13 and will say good bye to three seniors; Tyler Listle, Ethan Steingraber and Nate Pluff.

Hortonville fell to top seeded Antigo in the Regional Final.
