Worzalla, Jack Sr.

Jack Worzalla, Sr., age 74, of Waupaca, formerly of Stevens Point, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. He was born on Dec. 21, 1936, in Stevens Point, to the late Richard and Catherine (Kostuck) Worzalla and was a 1954 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point. Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corps as military police from Dec. 1954 to Jan. 1959. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and the Philippines, which included Subic Bay, Cubi Point and San Miguel. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. He was a gas and electric estimator for Wisconsin Public Service Corp. his entire working life before retiring. His interests included fishing, woodworking, building model airplanes, guns, his morning breakfast group and visiting with and helping the residents at the Veterans’ Home in King. Survivors include his former wife, Gady Worzalla of Stevens Point; daughters, Mari (Peter) Boris of Stevens Point, and Sue (Rob) Werwinski of Hartford; son, Jack Worzalla, Jr. of Genoa City; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan (James) Mulady of California, and Grace (Armann) Rohde of Florida; five nephews and two nieces and special cousins, Pat (Dave) Olsen, Jim (Judy) Embertson and John (Duong) Schmidt. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his Godmother and aunt, Grace Embertson. The Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Revs. Dennis Stanchik and Dennis Worzalla concelebrating. Military honors followed the Mass and burial took place in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, assisted the family with arrangements.
