Turner, Marion M.

Marion M. Turner, age 85, of Fremont, died on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his home. He was born on October 4, 1925, in the Town of Bloomfield, WI, the son of the late Walter and Elsie(Ziemke)Turner. On May 21, 1955, Marion was united in marriage to Elda Bartelt at Zion Lutheran Church in the Town of Caledonia. Marion was a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield, and was a former Finance Committee member. Marion farmed in the Town of Weyauwega for 34 years. He served as a volunteer fireman for the Town of Weyauwega for 19 years. Marion enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening and flowers. Marion is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elda; a daughter, Marilyn, at home; four sisters, Eleanor Neuman, Waupaca; Luella Kirk, Appleton; Ethelyn Scheider, Waupaca; and Mavis(Don)Jones, Tomah, WI; a brother, Gordon(Alice)Turner, Appleton; three brothers-in-law, Oscar Bartelt, Weyauwega; Clarence Bartelt, Sheboygan; and Edgar(Marcella)Bartelt, Appleton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield. Rev. Karl Wellnitz officiated . Burial was at Wolf River Cemetery. Visitation was held on Sunday, at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and on Monday at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Marion’s family requests that memorial may be directed to the Marilyn Martha Turner Supplemental Needs Trust Fund or to the memorial of their choice.
